Preflop, a player in early position raised to 575 and two players called including me and John Phan.

The flop came and the first player checked. I bet 1,025, Phan reraised it to 4,425, the player in first position folded, I reraised all in for 7,925 total, and Phan called.

Phan showed for an open-ended straight draw and I showed for middle pair and the nut flush draw. The turn and river came and I was up over 17,000 after that hand.

Blinds:

A player opened opened for 3,800 from the hi-jack position and I raised to 10,500. Opponent decided to flat.

The flop came and the opponent donked for 15,000 even. I tanked for a while, but then announced that I was all-in for about 56,000. My opponent snap called, having just a bit less than my stack.

Me:
Opponent:

Both were near even-money after the flop, but the turn put the opponent in the lead with a flush.

I still had a draw to the nut flush, but the river blanked a , crippling me and leaving me with just 3,000 behind.

The next hand  brought me deep run to an end. I will be leaving with $2,628 for my first cashed out.

Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi was cruising during the pre-dinner session, but since then has had a nightmare run, until he managed to triple up in a massive three-way all-in situation.

David Briedis raised to 3,000 from under the gun, only to see me in the UTG +1 position re-raise all-in for about 14,000. The action folded to Mizrachi in late position, who begrudgingly slapped his last 2,800 into the middle. All the others got out of the way and Briedis snap-called.

Briedis:
Me:
Mizrachi:

Incredibly, Mizrachi caught a runner-runner full house on the board of to triple up! Briedis, however, picked up more than enough chips in the sidepot and sent me to the rail.

Opponent raised to 175 from the button and I three-bet to 600. Oppo called and the flop came down . Oppo checked out of turn by accident before I bet 900. Oppo then raised to 2,500. I called.

The turn brought the and the oppo checked. I moved all in for 5,000 with the  and the oppo made the call. He held for a flush draw.

The river completed the board and the draw for him as the came in to give him five diamonds and I was out the door.

A player in early position raised to 225, the small blind called, and I re-raised all in for a total of 1525. The original raiser called and the hands were tabled.

Me:
Opponent:

The board didn’t favor me when it ran out and I was eliminated from the tournament.

The first of 14 tournaments;

I was all in for my final 8,650 in a preflop pot that had already reached 2,500. My opponent inferred that he had pocket queens. Since talking about your hand against the rules a floor person was called over, not to issue a warning or penalty, but to clarify to rule. I had no intention of having a table mate get reprimanded for his actions, but I did want the rule to be understood by everyone.

While the floor was explaining what was illegal and what was not, I decided to use this opportunity to call the clock. A timer was placed in front of the opponent which drew more chatter from the table about how only the player with a decision could see how much time was left. With just a few seconds on the clock the opponent threw in the chips the hands were turned face up.

Me:
Opponent:

The flop nearly sealed my fate as it fell leaving just four outs minus redraws. The turn was the and river and I was one of the first to hit the rails.
